The AviClear Laser uses a unique wavelength of laser energy that selectively targets sebaceous gland activity, resulting in a reduction in acne lesions that is comparable to use of Accutane (isotretinoin) in patients suffering from moderate-to-severe acne. Results are long-lasting with acne clearance visible for up to two years in clinical studies!
The AviClear device is safe for use on all skin types. Patients should expect to receive an initial series of 3 monthly treatment sessions with the possibility for additional, maintenance, sessions depending upon treatment response. Most patients experience a reduction in acne lesions of over 50% after 3 treatments, with many reporting continued improvement for up to 9 months post-treatment…..so be patient! Your skin will look clearer and clearer with time!
AviClear can be used to treat patients with mild to severe acne and can even be used as a preventative measure for younger patients entering puberty to stop acne before it starts! Finally, we have a treatment option that does not have systemic side effects, rely on patient compliance (prescription medications and other topical treatments must be USED in order to effective), or result in excessive dryness and skin irritation! Most patients report only mild flaking and redness in the treated area after each session and possible resurgence of acne (purging) 1-2 weeks post treatment.
