What Dermal Fillers Treat

What are Dermal Fillers?
Dermal fillers are injectable products, many of which consist of hyaluronic acid, a non‑animal-based substance that occurs naturally in the human body. These gels provide volume and fullness by binding with water in the skin, helping to soften facial wrinkles and folds. Dermal fillers can also be used to enhance and add fullness to the lips, improve the appearance of certain scars, and, when placed more deeply, subtly refine facial contours.*

How Do Dermal Fillers Work
Dermal fillers are injected with a very fine needle or cannula directly into carefully selected areas to restore or add volume. Over time, most fillers are naturally reabsorbed by the body, making them a safe, minimally invasive treatment for younger-looking skin.
Results are typically visible immediately after treatment, with little to no downtime for most patients. At Paradise Medspa, all dermal filler injections are performed by a licensed medical provider with experience in facial aesthetics and cosmetic injectables.

Dermal Filler Treatments We Offer
All of our dermal filler products have excellent safety profiles and are FDA approved. Dermal fillers can last anywhere from 6 months up to 2 years in duration, with the exception of Bellafill® which is FDA approved for up to 5 years.

What to Expect After Dermal Filler Treatment
After dermal filler injections, you may notice mild swelling, tenderness, or small bruises around the treated areas, which usually improve within a few days. Most patients feel comfortable returning to work and normal activities the same or next day, but we recommend avoiding strenuous exercise, saunas, and massaging the treated areas for at least 24 hours.
If you experience significant pain, increasing swelling, or any changes in skin color over the treated area, contact our office right away so a provider can evaluate you.
